A Cristmas Carol- Final Version

Last post I showed the rough version for my poster of "A Christmas Carol - The Musical" for Pioneer Theatre Company's upcoming season. I needed to add some space at the top to accommodate the title and a little bleed all the way around. I also decided that losing the chain around the brim of the hat made for a simpler statement. Everyone knows what A Christmas Carol is all about anyway, so I let it go. Other than that, it pretty much the way I envisioned it turning out. Let me know what you think.

WOWZA! So fantastic, Greg. The results have got to please you and your client. Must feel so satisfying...like having all your Christmas shopping done in July...er, May.

Thanks Kim. I am pretty happy with this, but i think it's more to do with the simplicity of the concept and the fact that there were no hiccups in production. Always feels better when things go smoothly.

Greg,

Hard to go wrong with such a great concept. When can I expect the check for using my face for SCROOGE?

Great great painting.

Great perspective to give so much room in the hat. Love the red noses, feels really cold. Cheers and bravo!

A small detail that I enjoy about this is the design of everyone's hair. Scrooge's chops, lady's nice hair, Cratchit's scruff, and Tim's little kid scraggly hair. Shows the characters well. The image looks great.

Jim- sorry but Scrooge has much better mutton chops than you.
Thanks Donna- that was the feeling I was going for.
Ellis- glad you noticed the small details- that's why I do them.
Dave- I had fun keeping it simple but the nice temperature shift in the color scheme was important to try to capture. Glad you think it works.

I love it.. wish I would have thought of the concept all ways had to come up with something different on something like this that has been done so many times before... great work.
