Descending Mist- 8" x 10"; Oil by Greg Newbold |
Our family was driving up Logan Canyon one spring morning when I caught a glimpse of what would inspire this painting. The sunlight had yet to burn off the canyon mist. As we rounded a turn nearing Cache Valley, I saw a few cows wandering down the grassy slope. Camera ever ready, I snapped off a couple of shots. The only problem was that it was blurry. Still I liked the atmospheric effect and figured someday I'd use it. And I did. I'll be taking this up to
Meyer Gallery in Park City, Utah later next week.
